Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): If it weren’t for the actors in the film, this wouldn’t look very appealing at all.
Peter J. Patrick (PP): Planned Oscar campaign for Lance Henriksen hasn’t quite taken off, but the film looks worth catching.
Thomas LaTourette (TL): It is probably going to be a well acted family drama, but the trailer did not make the characters, especially the father dealing with Alzheimer’s, too appealing. Though it sounds like a good first directorial effort by Viggo Martenson.

Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): It seems a bit too twee for its own good.
Peter J. Patrick (PP): The always interesting Olivia Cooke and Jack O’Connell in a Covid metaphor that might not have worked otherwise looks worth our time.
Thomas LaTourette (TL): I am intrigued by this film that looks to be a combination of Contagion and Memento, but not sure how it will totally hold together.

Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): Countless films try to approach the rural life concept with wit and humor and this one doesn’t look like it succeeds.
Peter J. Patrick (PP): Offbeat Australian comedy doesn’t quite grab me despite strong cast led by Sam Neill.
Thomas LaTourette (TL): It looks like a cute if minor comedy about warring sheep herding brothers, with some deeper aspects, but probably still a trifle.

Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): These horror films are all starting to look the same.
Peter J. Patrick (PP): The conclusion of a cheaply made horror trilogy I’ve never heard of does nothing for me.
Thomas LaTourette (TL): With the combination of horror and the plague of 1665, it might prove better than the trailer, but I doubt I’ll be the one to find out. It does hold the possibility of being a good horror film.

Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): These horror films are all starting to look the same.
Peter J. Patrick (PP): New Zealand has produced some really good psychological horror films, but this doesn’t look like one of them.
Thomas LaTourette (TL): It is trying to be some type of horror film, but the trailer gave me no desire to see it.

Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): The trailer almost makes the film’s premise seem interesting, but it never quite digs deep enough for my taste.
Peter J. Patrick (PP): Barbara Sukowa (Fassbinder’s Lola) still looks smashing as an elderly closeted lesbian in France’s Oscar contender.
Thomas LaTourette (TL): The trailer about the problems two older lesbians are having is not that moving, but the early reviews make it sound worth seeing.
