Three new wide releases are accompanied this week by six new limited releases. We look at one of those six in detail along with the three wide releases.
Consensus
Below is a list of what we have come to a general consensus on. The number in parens represents the percentage of our contributors who agree with the statement.
Limitless: While half of us are certain we won’t watch it, the remainder are undecided (50%), though we can all agree that the film’s Oscar chances are the exact opposite of limitless (100%).
The Lincoln Lawyer: The Weses are once again siding against a film this week while the other two aren’t sure or are waiting for DVD (50%), but we again agree this limo won’t be pulling up in front of the Kodak (100%).
Paul: None of us agree exactly, though two are likely to watch it, even if just on DVD (50%), but it’s a triple play against the wide releases this week in the Oscar department (100%).
Win Win: Based on the reputation of its director, we are all likely to see the film, with one of us certainly waiting for DVD (75%) and likewise, we’re fairly certain that the film has a few minor chances at this year’s Oscars (75%).

ThoughtsIt’s going to be a colossal bag of crap, at least if the trailers are right. Which means I’m not excited about seeing it. |
ThoughtsLooks a bit hokey, but I liked the director’s The Illusionist from a few years ago, so I might give it a shot. |
ThoughtsA weak-looking thriller with some dependable stars. |
ThoughtsIt looks pretty routine and I honestly don’t care. |

ThoughtsMatthew McConaughey continues to work, but for what reason I don’t know. This looks like formulaic claptrap, so I won’t be watching. |
ThoughtsLooks like it might be a decent time killer. |
ThoughtsAn intriguing set-up and cast, but probably not worth an expensive trip to the theatre. |
ThoughtsZzzzzzzz…… |

ThoughtsIt has potential, but not a lot. My friends want to see it, so this will probably be our film of the week. I will be hoping for the best, but expecting the worst. |
ThoughtsI enjoyed the director’s most recent film, Adventureland, so I might be willing to give this a shot. |
ThoughtsThis looks like the kind of laughless comedy that gets dumped in March. |
ThoughtsSimon Pegg and Nick Frost have had great chemistry in “Shaun of the Dead” and “Hot Fuzz,” two movies I enjoy, so I will probably check this one out at some point. Probably not in theaters though. I just wonder how it will turn out without Edgar Wright at the helm. |

ThoughtsThis is Tom McCarthy’s third feature and with The Station Agent being a wonderful surprise with strong performances and The Visitor being slightly inferior, but still interesting, I can’t imagine not watching this film at some point. |
ThoughtsI like Thomas McCarthy’s films so I will probably like this one. |
ThoughtsThomas McCarthy has proved an interesting filmmaker, and this could be a nice sleeper film. |
ThoughtsI enjoyed Tom McCarthy’s last two films, “The Station Agent” and “The Visitor,” so I will likely check this one out when it hits Blu-ray. |
