Wesley Lovell (WL): Oscar-nominated Cyrano got the short shrift at this year’s awards. It’s one of the best films of the year. See it. Peter J. Patrick (PP): Nicley done musical version of the classic tale. Thomas LaTourette (TL): I think this should prove a good film and casting Peter Dinklage was masterful, but I wish they hadn’t waited so long to release it.

Wesley Lovell (WL): A cheesy horror film with non-actor musicians doesn’t sound like the best idea. Peter J. Patrick (PP): Has an Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein vibe to it. Thomas LaTourette (TL): This is probably only for Foo Fighters fans as it looks pretty silly rather than scary.

Wesley Lovell (WL): The trailer does absolutely nothing to make this film look palatable. Peter J. Patrick (PP): Chaotic trailer doesn’t do much to sell this minor comedy. Thomas LaTourette (TL): The trailer tried way too hard to be weird and edgy which did not create any interest in me for seeing the movie.

Wesley Lovell (WL): We’ve seen so many similar films that it’s hard to build interest for this. Peter J. Patrick (PP): Shown at film festivals for 3 years, this Holocaust drama looks a cut above the routine. Thomas LaTourette (TL): I am not certain that the love story presented here will hold up to much scrutiny, but it might prove worthwhile.
There are two wide release and neither are likely to be huge hits, but I would guess that Cyrano was likely to do the better of the two.
