On Wednesdays, we preview all of the upcoming new wide and limited releases hitting the theaters the coming weekend. On Fridays, we’ll now tell you what you should see. We pose two questions each week to our contributors and their responses are posted below.

Wesley Lovell

1. Which of the two new wide releases would you choose to recommend above the others?
Obviously, I won’t be recommending Wimpy Kid without seeing the original, so it’s a no-brainer: Sucker Punch. You know it’s going to be bad, but the visuals will be staggeringly good.
2. Are there any limited release features this week that you would recommend (and why)?
Peep World might be interesting and Potiche could be fun, but I think Miral will end up being the most important new release this week.

1. Which of the two new wide releases would you choose to recommend above the others?
Neither. They both look like complete wastes of time to me.
2. Are there any limited release features this week that you would recommend (and why)?
Both Miral and Potiche are by important directors with important things to say. If you live where they are playing, i.e. New York or Los Angeles, then they both seem like they’re worth your time. Otherwise wait until they come to DVD or cable TV.

1. Which of the two new wide releases would you choose to recommend above the others?
Sucker Punch is probably the lesser of the two evils this week…or just stay at home and rent something good.
2. Are there any limited release features this week that you would recommend (and why)?
Miral still looks interesting, but they can all probably wait until you can rent them.
