Poster Rating: B-

Review: This “fractured” design has been used to death. The black background with faces popping out of it has been overused as well and there’s very little of interest in this poster, though it at least entices fans of Hugh Jackman and Ewan McGregor, and, to a minor extent, Michelle Williams who’s barely recognizable in the trailer.

Trailer Rating: C+

Review: This looks like your typical modern-noir thriller and is strikingly similar in style to Perfect Stranger and may very well be a derivation on the point. Michelle Williams is the most interesting actor in the preview. She’s so strikingly different that it might be interesting to see. However, Jackman and McGregor seem to be falling into typical, yet somewhat strange for Jackman, roles.

Oscar Prospects:

Thrillers like this don’t earn Academy recognition. Even the more traditional noir films have been ignored in recent years.
