Poster Rating: B+

Review: This poster establishes a traditional blend of cast head shots arrayed in a dominance arrangement featuring varying sizes of mugs. However, the overall layout and color scheme make this one of the year’s more interesting and visually stimulating works. Despite being a slave to tradition, it distinguishes itself marvellously.

Trailer Rating: C+

Review: It doesn’t hold well for this trailer that after a few days I’ve already forgotten what the film was about. The tale of an author who writes beautiful things in spite of his horrific past isn’t terribly intriguing. It’s an indie-art film that may perform well with that crowd, but not likely elsewhere.

Oscar Prospects:

I can’t really see a movie like this earning Oscar nominations, so unless it’s a major contender in the year-end critics’ prizes, I doubt it will be considered for Oscars.
