There’s only one new wide release this weekend and after the anemia of the prior frame, Honk for Jesus. Save Your Soul. has a clear path towards victory. That is if it can overcome the re-release of Jaws and Spider-Man: No Way Home. It’s Labor Day weekend, so the likelihood of any film doing really well is low.

Wesley Lovell (WL): Two appealing actors in a rather unappealing premise. Peter J. Patrick (PP): Unfunny satire. Thomas LaTourette (TL): It does not look very funny nor even feel much like a satire. I don’t think I want to spend time with these people.

Thomas LaTourette (TL): I do not know why this film was made or who they are trying to target. It does not seem that interesting and may not even appeal to fans of history.

Patrick (PP): Quirky romance could be either engaging or off-putting, hard to tell which from the trailer. Thomas LaTourette (TL): There are the bones of an interesting picture in the trailer, but I am not sure it will carry through to be that good.
