On Wednesdays, we preview all of the upcoming new wide and limited releases hitting the theaters the coming weekend. On Fridays, we’ll now tell you what you should see. We pose two questions each week to our contributors and their responses are posted below.

Wesley Lovell

1. Would you recommend readers see X-Men: First Class?
Absolutely. This franchise has been an amazing blend of character development and action and everything I’ve heard about this one suggests the same.
2. Are there any limited release features this week that you would recommend (and why)?
It’s a tough choice, but for me, Beautiful Boy has the most potential for stellar performances and story all around and I’m really curious how the filmmakers will handle tragedy and grief from the other side of the gun.

1. Would you recommend readers see X-Men: First Class?
Nah. Not my cup of tea, but for those to whom it appeals, my two cents isn’t going to dissuade them.
2. Are there any limited release features this week that you would recommend (and why)?
Beginners seems to be the best bet with Christopher Plummer’s lauded performance to recommend it. Beautiful Boy looks compelling, but awfully sad. Socialisme is for Godard fans only.

Tripp Burton

1. Would you recommend readers see X-Men: First Class?
I think it looks like one of the better summer action films, and probably the only one I am looking forward to.
2. Are there any limited release features this week that you would recommend (and why)?
Beginners looks real good, and has the best buzz behind it.

Wes Huizar

1. Would you recommend readers see X-Men: First Class?
Maybe. It’s getting good reviews. I will have to see it before I recommend it due to the fact that the last two films sucked.
2. Are there any limited release features this week that you would recommend (and why)?
No, but I don’t know much about any of them anyway. Maybe the Godard picture.
