Review: (#1, C) Do you get it? The nuns are dark? Silhouettes? Nah, you don’t get it? That’s because it’s an abortive attempt to create something thematic without trying. (#2, C+) There’s a little more of interest with this design with some color and intrigue created by the lower right segment of the design. Unfortunately, that’s all there really is there. That harsh white background on the left should have been avoided.

Trailer Rating: C / C+

Review: (#1, C) The South Korean fascination with religious horror would be intriguing if it weren’t so far fetched. Catholicism isn’t even a prominent religion in the country so it seems like an odd choice. That selection is even more mystifying when a trailer like this can’t even make a case for its own existence.

(#2, C+) The supernatural element is given more depth in this trailer and sets up the concept of a nun who engages in rituals from different religions. That mash-up has some appeal and makes it seem less derivative but the presentation remains underwhelming.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
