Review: (#1, C+) The lack of detail in the background makes it all rather dull. The bonus points come from the Liberty-like pose of star Viola Davis.
(#2, B-) The emptiness in the upper and lower portions underwhelms the rest of the design, which has a simple and appealing structure.
Trailer Rating: C+ / C

Review: (#1, C+) After Gerard Butler had his series of successes with presidential protection features starting with White House Down, this looks to be a similar concept except that the president themselves is the action hero. That might seem a far-fetched concept but even the trailer manages to convey the foundation of the premise, which is helpful. The action is a bit dull and some of the humor doesn’t land but there’s reason to believe there will be some interest in the film in the wake of the trailer’s release.
(#2, C) Amplify the action. Limit the narrative references. Create a trailer that neither excites nor entices. It’s a tepid, slow moving trailer that wants to throw in snark and humor but it all falls flat.
Oscar Prospects:
None.
