Review: (#1, C+) Informed by elements of the trailer, this poster may have some bearing on the viewer’s interest. However, the body horror elements feel a bit tepid, as does the position of the pupil, which doesn’t seem natural.

(#2-#3, C+) These two designs highlight the “unifying” element of the titular impact. It’s interesting enough that the viewer might be compelled to see it based on these two sets of images.

(#4, C+) The saw is a nice touch but this is just a tacky design with words of praise that aren’t terribly attractive.

Trailer Rating: C / C+ / B- / C+

Review: (#1, C) A confusing trailer that gives the impression of two figures eventually becoming won but a sci-fi kind of concept like this needs more to be broadly intriguing and there’s just not enough here to support that.

(#2, C+) In their second attempt to appeal to audiences, they’ve reached a more appealing track where body horror fans will find something here to excite them. The action looks modestly unique but the story isn’t well presented, making it difficult for the viewer to decide if this film is for them.

(#3, B-) In the guise of a home movie aesthetic, this trailer does create a uniqueness that will generate some curiosity. The slow revelation of the horror on offer is given in the various slides and then it crumbles a bit by the end in its attempt to oversell the film’s gruesomeness.

(#4, C+) A shorter trailer doesn’t always engage the viewer. This steals some scenes from prior trailers without explaining the plot. It might engage with more of the humor than the prior efforts did but there’s still something stunt-like about it.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
