Synopsis:

Review: (#1, C+) For a mainstream film, this design is unsurprisingly oversimplified. It’s a big city with an inexplicable prisoner and a bunch of black-and-white feel with a touch of pink. It’s a waste of color, space and balance giving only Chris Pratt fans something to get excited over.

(#2, C+) Keeping Pratt at the center of the image makes sense but the background details aren’t suitably improved even if it pains a more capable picture of the setting of the film. (#3, C+) The only thing that sets this apart is putting Pratt into an action stance rather than being locked in a chair. It improperly tries to convince the audience that this isn’t a stage-bound sci-fi picture. It has the opposite reaction, making it look like every other washed out star trying to do an action film.

(#4-#8, C+) Varying degrees of creative energy seem to be the expectation when so many format-specific designs are generated. They are unique from one another but don’t feel such.

Review: (#1, C+) There is a fascinating concept here that’s hampered by its familiar storytelling elements, its dispassionate maternal figure, and the fact that some will be rooting for Chris Pratt to fail and that’s not the kind of foundation for a blockbuster.

(#2, C+) Not much new in this trailer, which better explains the concept but fails to generate excitement. This is a blockbuster in need of a more compelling marketing strategy.
