Review: (#1, C+) The titular shadowy nature is well employed but the background colors and inconsistent lighting elements makes the design look amateurish.

Review: (#1, C+) Although the viewer can be assured of danger and societal unrest, the trailer does a poor job conveying the tension of the film. We are fairly certain not just from the trailer but the film’s title that the children will survive and the father won’t but presenting that idea too readily won’t create much of an interest in seeing the film.

Oscar Prospects:

It was submitted by the United Kingdom for Best International Feature and despite decent support among critics, it didn’t make the shortlist so it’s out.
