Review: (#1, C) Five faces on a blade is expected but unoriginal. They are painted in blood, which is somewhat unique but the background and surrounding details are so incredibly dull. (#2-#4, C+) Taken together, if they were paired correctly on the wall, it puts forth a thematic connection. Individually, they don’t make a lot of sense and even when combined, the result is not terribly spectacular.

(#5, B+) Ever since Blade Runner 2049 made orange-blue color schemes popular, they continue to invade poster designs to varying degrees of success. Here, it might have been creatively used but it doesn’t add much to what is already a pretty solid stack of details.

Trailer Rating: B+

Review: (#1, B+) Modern horror seems to have finally branched away from the paranormal activity and found footage subgenres and into this battle royale-esque concept of a victim going after their attackers. There’s a certain corny excitement about these and this one builds out of that concept effectively with some interesting casting choices and lots of violence.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
