Review: (#1, #3-#4, #6-#13, C+) These spoofy photos target familiar horror films of recent vintage and while they are clever in the same way that the film is clever, they are low-hanging fruit, which could also be a perfect reference to the film series itself. (#2, B-) I love the concept but it’s execution is mediocre at best. (#5, B-) A return to a design familiar to the franchise but with cheap-looking design work. (#14, C+) A more compact but still underwhelming take on the main design #5. (#15, C) This might fall into the range of spoof but feels unimpressive compared to the prior efforts.

Trailer Rating: B+

Review: (#1, B+) As a fan of the Scary Movie series, it’s nice to see a return of the spoof horror film. There are some genuinely funny moments and quite a few cringy ones and that pretty much defines this entire franchise. Its irreverent, irresponsible, and irreverent takes on several horror films of recent vintage make it feel as fitting and funny as it used to be. This series has always produced some sociopolitical commentary and it’s on full display in this preview. It doesn’t seem like it will draw in new fans but old ones will certainly turn out for it.
