Review: (#1, C) This hapless teaser may be designed to appeal to fans of the book but the end result is something that general audiences aren’t going to suddenly be intrigued to see. There’s no plot. There’s no action. There’s just a brief glimpse of Sally Field and nothing of interest outside of that.

(#2, B) As conventional as the underlying story appears to be, the narrating octopus is an intriguing touch but the story seems to carry a touching humanity the genre seldom gets right.
