Review: (#1, C+) The oblique angle, a commonly used trope in action poster designs, is well handled here with what looks like hand-drawn film elements to bring these figures together. Interesting but somewhat inconsequential.

(#2, B-) There’s not a lot of metaphorical depth to this image but it’s striking both literally and figuratively and will stand out well in a crowded marketplace of familiar designs. (#3, C+) Similar to the prior design but with more characters, different colors and less empty space but also feeling less impactful. (#4, C+) Stripping out the color of the prior efforts and relying on the black-white-and-red motif that horror films typically employ, the effort doesn’t stand out well enough even if it has a visually striking construction.

Review: (#1, C+) Non-stop action violence is important to the success of a film like this and while many of the choreographed moments have a patina of originality, the overreliance on critic praise doesn’t do much to overcome the feeling of familiarity this trailer breeds.
