Review: (#1, C) Without knowing the concept, this poster doesn’t do much. It suggests some kind of missile-based drama but not much else. If you can identify Jared Harris as Mikhail Gorbachev, then perhaps you pick up on what the poster is selling but it limits viewership strictly to those over a certain age and a particular global political interest level. Too narrow a demographic to make a hit.

Review: (#1, C+) Another Angel mediocrity. Set in Iceland, Ronald Reagan (a poor visual resemblance thereof) and Mikhail Gorbachev attempt to come to terms related to the denuclearization of the Cold War. In the hands of a capable filmmaker, this might have looked more appealing but this looks like grade-school level interpretation of a college-level instruction on the events with a surprisingly miscast Jeff Daniels at the head. He’s a great actor but this one seems out of his depth and he looks like he knows it. This is the second recent attempt to sanitize and lionize the Reagan legacy while presenting something that looks absolutely tepid.
