Review: (#1, C+) A little bit of blood tells the viewer to expect horror but the red and magenta colors temper its visual explosiveness. Adding the R-rating as a central element of the design is still an uncommon design choice and might have the intended effect on the viewer. (#2, C) While this might have some titillation effect on some audiences it won’t be something that draws audiences to the theater in its current context.

Review: (#1, B+) A gorgeous trailer with plenty of visual elements to savor for any fan of cinematic creativity. The story isn’t easily understood but if you can come away without being fascinated by the possibilities, then you won’t appreciate much in the way of art films.

(#2, B) This film’s trailer designers are clearly focused on the visual brilliance of Nicolas Winding Refn without an interest in the film’s premise. While we get a small amount of information on its content and the horrific nature of the plot, it’s still amorphous enough to create intrigue.
