Review: (#1, C+) Although it’s not a richly detailed effort, it’s a unique that will generate some intrigue in the future, suggesting a Victorian-era horror film.

(#2, C+) Without the “Victorian” of the title, it’s unlikely the viewer would have easily identified the time period of the film. The axe is a nice touch (surprisingly using a still image, shockingly the one featured on this preview page, and modifying it for the poster). The red background might convey the horror elements of the film, but it stands out garishly against the foreground image.

Review: (#1, B-) A minimally bloody period horror film given unique angles and intriguing moments. This trailer feels like it’s trying too hard to impress the viewer without providing enough detail to hook them.

(#2, C+) Lots of bloody carnage will appeal to some audiences but the figure at its center doesn’t have the charm or wit that would make them a sympathetic character and thus bring audiences to theaters in wider numbers than the genre faithful.
