Review: (#1, C+) As far as animated feature teaser poster designs, this one stands a little above the rest. The colors are subdued and modestly appealing but it’s lack of intriguing affectations makes it stand on the rather dull side.

Review: (#1, C+) The film initially looks like a quaint science-centered love story and it looks almost a little tepid. The final scene indicates otherwise and also creates doubt in the viewer that this will be anything more than kid-friendly filler.

Oscar Prospects:

Illumination struggles to score Oscar nominations and this new effort will be another test of their capability. It might have a chance but their overreliance on cutesiness might still prevent its overall acceptance.
