Review: (#1, C+) Few posters try for the depth of three-dimensional stacking in all-star casts and while this isn’t exactly an example of why it doesn’t work, the rest of the design contributes. The black background that most of the coifs on the poster blend into is a poor choice and going for the red lettering doesn’t aid in reading the actor names.

Review: (#1, B) When you have a director and stars like this film has, it’s less about creating excitement in existing fans and more about trying something creatively interesting for your debut trailer. Trying for a dialogue-light, pulse pounding soundscape, the producers create something that is genuinely intriguing at times and modestly suggestive at others. It feels at times like Affleck is going for another Gone Girl-like narrative but with a cast like this, one can forgive the similarities a little bit.

Oscar Prospects:

Will this be a return to the consistency of Oscar nominations Ben Affleck started with or will it be the same as his last film, which received none? It’s hard to tell but no one seemed to be talking about this film before now so perhaps not.
