Review: (#1, B-) Angelina Jolie, as a filmmaker, has an understanding of cinematic language that make her films look compelling even if they are narratively underwhelming. This trailer suggests another effort to create tension with a historical resonance that gets lost by the end of the trailer.

Oscar Prospects:

With her first directorial effort in seven years, Angelina Jolie continues to be one of the more enigmatic directors who can’t seem to get Oscar’s attention even when her films have some measure of acclaim. This one looks compelling enough that it could be a contender, at least in terms of acting, but I wouldn’t bet too much on that.
