Review: (#1, C) Without a strong background and the underwhelming art style of the main characters, this design isn’t likely to inspire interest. (#2, C+) With all the background details, there is at least something to look at but like the trailer, these characters don’t look even remotely engaging. (#3, C+) The shadow play is an interesting design choice but once again, there’s a lifeless background at play and characters you don’t care to spend time with. (#4, C) Not far enough removed from the first design with a Merry Melodies kind of background that adds little of visual interest. (#5, C+) A nicely detailed design with drawings that are far more reminiscent to the earliest Tom & Jerry cartoons but which aren’t likely to draw audiences to the theater.

Review: (#1, D+) Many animated series and characters of the past have been brought forward in recent years in an attempt to sell nostalgia but few of them succeed in altering the original drawings to a point they look modern yet fake. Throw in a bland narrative and what appears to be lifeless humor and you have a film that is going to ruin childhoods not remember them.
