Review: (#1, C+) It’s modestly unique but uninspiring. It uses the title literally and that’s a fair if underwhelming choice. (#2, C) Layering paint over a still image is also an infrequent touch but this effort is rather dull. (#3, C+) A scene from the film that provides preciously little context. (#4-#5, B) These last two designs have an artistic, painterly quality with terrific framing and lines drawing the viewer into the image. If only the title design was’t so uninspired.

Trailer Rating: B+

Review: (#1, B+) A beautifully shot trailer provides enough detail to generate intrigue without completely explaining the film’s premise. It’s a nice opening salvo but there’s not quite enough to go off of here to determine if it’s going to be a genuinely great piece of filmmaking or an underwhelming misfire.

Oscar Prospects:

The artistic feel of the trailer could suggest that it’s a contender for the major foreign language entry of the year but there’s insufficient substance in the trailer to affirm a guarantee.
