Review: (#1, C) A scene from the film in a serene quiet setting but one that doesn’t say much about the film’s content. (#2, C+) When most designs use a cloudy sky as a background, they do so in a simplistic and visually underwhelming way. This design tries something different, giving perspective with the building and stairs framing the figures and creating presence to the figures in its lower corner. (#3, C) Another simple static shock with a backdrop that has some beauty but feels inconsequential.

Review: (#1, B-) Although the concept is familiar, the execution looks to be a cut above other such films. It doesn’t generate the kind of emotional energy that turns a film like this into an indie darling but that might not be necessary with a built-in audience.

Oscar Prospects:

An Oscar contender for Best International Feature for sure but a crossover contender might be a stretch.
