On Sundays, we list the weekend’s upcoming films along with previews of trailers and posters. On Wednesdays, we preview all of the upcoming new wide and limited releases hitting the theaters the coming weekend. On Fridays, we’ll now tell you what you should see. We pose two questions each week to our contributors and their responses are posted below.

Wesley Lovell

1. Which of the two new wide releases would you choose to recommend above the others?
Give Garry Marshall’s New Year’s Eve a try. He loves romantics and his films are always at least marginally amusing.
2. Are there any limited release features this week that you would recommend (and why)?
There are several I recommend (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, We Need to Talk About Kevin and Young Adult), but of these three, I’d give Young Adult the top consideration.

Peter J. Patrick

1. Which of the two new wide releases would you choose to recommend above the others?
None. Go holiday shopping.
2. Are there any limited release features this week that you would recommend (and why)?
Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy but it helps to have read the novel or at least seen the mini-series with Alec Guinness.

Tripp Burton

1. Which of the two new wide releases would you choose to recommend above the others?
It depends on which comedic genre you like more: the romantic or the stoner.
2. Are there any limited release features this week that you would recommend (and why)?
Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy is the one I am most excited for, but they are all supposed to be worthwhile.
