It’s rare that two foreign language films top my week of trailers watched, but they have.

Declaration of War

Plot Summary: A young couple struggle to handle the diagnosis that their child is suffering from a grave illness.

Rating: C-
Commentary: Colorful to a point of repulsiveness, life isn’t a carnival and the struggles this couple are facing aren’t adequately represented in this poster, which could confuse audiences about what they are going to see. 		Rating: B+
Commentary: It certainly looks like a compelling film. It’s a bit chaotic at times, but it hits all the right notes to draw curious audiences to the theater…if they don’t mind subtitles.

Oscar Chances: It’s a contender for a Foreign Language Film nomination (at the 84th Oscars) and could very well get it. A win wouldn’t be a shock either.
