After announcing its nominees in the 11th, the Detroit Film Critics Society has named its winners for 2011. Carey Mulligan and Michael Fassbender haven’t gotten much attention this year, but here they are winning prizes. Those who receive the most traction with this group are Actor (Fassbender), Supporting Actor (Christopher Plummer) and Supporting Actress (Mulligan). These three categories have earned Oscar nominations each time the Detroit group has given them prizes. Unfortunately for them, their Supporting Actress trend is probably going down this year. As for prizes, the only category to see more than 50% of its winners win Oscars is Supporting Actor and Plummer should be very excited since they’ve also correctly predict the Oscar winner as well.
