On Wednesdays, we preview all of the upcoming new wide and limited releases hitting the theaters the coming weekend. On Fridays, we’ll now tell you what you should see. We pose two questions each week to our contributors and their responses are posted below.

There’s no alternative but Haywire. See it.

1. Which of the three new wide releases would you choose to recommend above the others?
Red Tails, if anything, though ther are still a number of late 2011 releases still around which might make better choices.
2. Are there any limited release features this week that you would recommend (and why)?
Nah. I live in an active adult community in which there are plenty of people in Carol Channing’s age bracket who can and do sing and dance just as well as she does. All I have to do is walk down the street to see them.

Tripp Burton

1. Which of the three new wide releases would you choose to recommend above the others?
They are all pretty specific genre films, but I would go with the one directed by Oscar-Winner Steven Soderbergh (Haywire).
2. Are there any limited release features this week that you would recommend (and why)?
Carol Channing is my most anticipated film of the week.
