Plot Summary: Tim Burton takes on a feature length version of the short film that set him on a course towards fame about a young boy who attempts to resurrect his late, beloved pet like Dr. Frankenstein raised his monster.

Rating: B
Commentary: The year of simple evocations of a film’s themes is a nice respite to the past years’ unnecessarily busy wrecks. You don’t have a lot to look at here, but every piece of the image has importance, which is what great designs require. 		Rating: C
Commentary: It’s a fairly morose story for an animated feature, but this tribute to Frankenstein teeters on the edge of homage and mimicry. After The Corpse Bride and Alice in Wonderland, I don’t think the combinations of animation and fantasy give me enough confidence in the film to take this trailer at more than face value, which is fairly unexceptional.

Oscar Chances: Depending on how good the film is, it could be a Best Animated Feature contender and could possibly even show up in Best Origianl Score.
