On Sundays, we list the weekend’s upcoming films along with previews of trailers and posters. On Wednesdays, we preview all of the upcoming new wide and limited releases hitting the theaters the coming weekend. On Fridays, we’ll now tell you what you should see. We pose two questions each week to our contributors and their responses are posted below.

Wesley Lovell

1. Which of the three new wide releases would you choose to recommend above the others?
Considering what’s available, I’ll definitely be checking something else out this weekend, but if I had to choose, The Cabin in the Woods seems the least disagreeable.
2. Are there any limited release features this week that you would recommend (and why)?
Sure Monsieur Lazhar was nominated for an Oscar, but The Lady has my vote.

Peter J. Patrick

1. Which of the three new wide releases would you choose to recommend above the others?
None. They all look like re-treads of not very interesting things we ‘ve seen before.
2. Are there any limited release features this week that you would recommend (and why)?
Monsieur Lazhar looks like an interesting mix of genres – namely immigation drama and student/eacher realtionships.

Tripp Burton

1. Which of the three new wide releases would you choose to recommend above the others?
Whatever floats your boat…all three are genre picks, and none look too enticing to me.
2. Are there any limited release features this week that you would recommend (and why)?
Monsieur Lazhar is an Oscar nominee, if that means anything to you.
