   I think Glenda’s was the best performance because she has so many layers that she’s showing all at one time. Also, in 1970 NOBODY was beating her for this award. The only person who may have had a small small chance would have been Carrie Snodgress, only because Carrie’s film was a comedy whereas all the others nominated were flat out Dramas. Sarah Miles film was a box office disaster, Jane Alexander many at the time thought she should have been in the supporting category, and Ali MacGraw’s film was a big box office hit but many felt her acting to be extremely limited.
