Films that have been dominating the American critics groups (Lincoln and Zero Dark Thirty) didn’t have big showings here. Even Silver Linings Playbook was virtually shut out. Whether their affinity for American films is decidedly minimized or if they just love to spread the wealth to an international community, these nominations are refreshing in a sea of similarity.
