And with the Guild Hat Trick (DGA, SAG & PGA) in hand plus a handful of other prizes, Argo seems unbeatable, but there are still a few weeks until Oscar. Thing can change quickly with that much time still to go (the ballots haven’t even been sent yet).

With the expansion Best Picture nominees to upwards of ten, statistically there will be a greater chance of an unnominated director’s film winning. Even though it only happened once before (Grand Hotel, 1932) during the 15 times there were more than five nominated films, it looks like we could have the second occurrence, and maybe more to come in the future.

Incredible, the academy is gonna have to apologize to Ben for their insult not nominating him.

And the Academy is gonna make history again, awarding a movie not nominated for best director sin Driving Miss Daisy.
