The Concert: While certainly not an Oscar contender (100%), we are mostly undecided if we want see the film (75%)

Thoughts

The concept is so intriguing that you can’t help but wonder what Christopher Nolan can do with the material. It could be bad, but considering I enjoyed the two Batman films and Memento, I should like this one. How well? We shall see.

Thoughts

The most anticipated film of the summer, if not the year. The only question is whether or not can live up to the hype.

Thoughts

I am not the world’s greatest Christopher Nolan fan, but the attention this is getting will probably lead me to check it out. I have a hard time believing it will be the Oscar contender some are making it out to be, though.

Thoughts

In my opinion, “Inception” would be a top contender in a year with 5 nominees. With 10 films in competition, it should be a lock for a Best Picture nomination. I also see nominations for Director, Supporting Actor (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), Supporting Actress (Marion Cotillard), and multiple tech nominations. Furthermore, I think it has the Art Direction and Cinematography Oscars in the bag already.

Thoughts

Nicolas Cage is not one of my favorite actors and this looks like your fairly typical Disney tripe, but I’ll still end up seeing it later in exchange for getting to see Inception this weekend.

Thoughts

The prospect of another Nicholas Cage movie from his National Treasure films director doesn’t exactly thrill me, but doesn’t turn me completely off either.

Thoughts

Disney live action films can be very hit or miss, and this looks like a miss.

Thoughts

It looks like a Harry Potter rip-off, and there’s something about remaking the most beloved of all “Fantasia” segments that just doesn’t sit right with me, especially with Jerry Bruckheimer behind it.

Thoughts

It looks like it could be a charming movie, but there’s also the real possibility it’s as mediocre as Paris 36.

Thoughts

Minor French film, may be worth a DVD rental.

Thoughts

I hadn’t heard anything about this, but it looks like it could be great or ridiculously corny.

Thoughts

I don’t know anything about this movie, so I don’t really think it would be fair of me to weigh in. I guess it’s possible for it to contend for Best Foreign Language Film if it’s submitted by its country for consideration, but really, who knows at this juncture?
