Rating: B+
Commentary: I’m reminded of Gosford Park with this design, but that’s a fleeting impression that most won’t get. The itemized list of actors is one of the most distracting elements, but it does seem to fit well with the overall design and is less obtrusive than it could have been.
Rating: B+
Commentary: I know that this is the Oscar baitiest of Oscar bait films this year, but I can’t help but be intrigued by the possibilities. While I would certainly prefer audiences get a taste of the nearly identical television miniseries released in the late 1970’s, perhaps it’s time to re-explore the material from a slightly different angle. As much as I recognize its glaring attempts to court Oscar voters before the film opens, I’m very intrigued by the possibilities, though I still don’t buy John Cusack as Richard Nixon.

Oscar Chances: This will become the most over-hyped film of the year even if it is a masterpiece, which is unlikely. Consider it a lock for a nomination in Best Picture with several other top-tier Oscar nominations to go with it. Wins will depend on how good the film really is.
