One new trailer (The Social Network) and three new posters (Redx2 and The Wildest Dream) in today’s update.
THE SOCIAL NETWORK, trailer #2
Plot Summary: The story of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and the origins of one of the most utilized social service in the history of the world. Release Date:October 1, 2010
Trailer
Poster
Rating:B+ Commentary: The selection of music is probably the best element of the trailer. After it gets into the nuts and bolts of the film it slows down a bit, but it’s an effective use of editing to convey a sense of story without giving away the end.

RED, poster #3 & #4
Plot Summary: A retired CIA operative finds life too mundane in the real world and re-teams with his old associates for one last job to stave off the mundanity. Release Date:October 15, 2010
Rating:B; B- Commentary: So, I thought Helen Mirren’s poster would be the only one I’d give a slightly higher grade to, but I was wrong. This one for John Malkovich shows off his maniacal side, which is a very positive thing.; And then we get the fourth poster and it’s as limitedly engaging as the first one with Bruce Willis. You would think Morgan Freeman could convey something exceptionally cool from his depiction, but it is not to be.

THE WILDEST DREAM, poster #1 changed
Plot Summary: 75 years after George Mallory disappeared while trying to summit Mount Everest, mountain climber Conrad Anker tries to accomplish what Mallory had not and to do so using only what would have been available to Mallory when he attempted the feat. Release Date:May 27, 2010
Rating:C+ Commentary: One of the worst things about linking to Apple Trailers’ posters is they change them almost at random and I don’t know until I go back in to look. That’s the case here, except I had just reviewed this poster yesterday. Anyway, while this isn’t the poster I saw originally, the only thing that’s really different is the expanse of white actually depicted. This one might do a better job conveying itself to audiences, but I doubt it.
