It’s been three months since we last revised our predictions and while a few films have entered the race, a few have left it. Our predictions also showcase how little any of us know at this juncture. Our Best Picture predictions are spread over 15 films with The Monuments Men and The Wolf of Wall Street our only universally shared predictions. We have others, but until Toronto, we’re a little reticent to being more specific than this.

Other predictions we seem to agree on at this point are George Clooney for Best Director of Monuments Men; Cate Blanchett and Judi Dench (the two Oscar-nominated Queen Elizabeths) in Best Actress for Blue Jasmine and Philomena respectively; and Oscar winner Octavia Spencer for Fruitvale Station. We hope that the views become clearer in the next month or two, though the sheer volume of potential Oscar contenders this year is going to make it tough if many of them don’t completely flop.
