In a surprising series of ties, Los Angeles added their vote to both Her and Gravity with Gravity picking up more awards, including Best Director. There was nothing else terribly surprising from this list. Adele Exarchopoulos and James Franco nabbed their first mentions of the season. Ernest & Celestine breaks the lock The Wind Rises had so far had on the season’s Animated Feature race, though Miyazaki’s film still hung on for a runner-up mention.
