The London Film Critics Circle have long had an eclectic appreciation for film and with their varied release schedule, some U.S. releases don’t appear at all, while others do. Even though The Wolf of Wall Street will not appear in U.K. theaters until 2014, they have qualified it this year. They also seem to like it more than American Hustle, which is different than most groups across the Pond. 12 Years a Slave again dominated noinations, but thanks to the extra nominations from the British-only categories, Philomena came in second with Wolf and Blue Jasmine following behind. There are few surprises, though cleary the American Hustle indifference is clearly represented here by its two nominations, one for Jennifer Lawrence and the other for Christian Bale as British Actor of the Year.
