Two new trailers tonight. One for vampire rock film Suck and one for short animation compilation Nine Nation Animation. Then we also have two new posters. One for alien invasion flick Skyline and the other for buried-alive feature Buried.
NINE NATION ANIMATION
Plot Summary: A compilation of nine short films from nine different nations around the world. Release Date:September 29, 2010
Trailer
Poster
Rating:B+ Commentary: Some of the animation styles are quite intriguing, but this isn’t the kind of film that will appeal to a broad demographic. But, it sufficiently displays the contents without ruining them and provides some interesting musical accompaniment.
Rating:C Commentary: Not a very animated poster, which belies what the film is about. It might draw some measure of attention from passing pedestrians or bored theatergoers, but it’s not going to do very much to help sell the film.

SUCK
Plot Summary: Trying to boost their band’s popularity, when some of the bandmates become vampires, their dreams come true, but at what price? Release Date:September 2, 2010
Trailer
Poster
Rating:B Commentary: I have to say the premise is promising. The idea is inventive. It’s a clever concept. Let’s just hope it doesn’t live up to its traumatizing title.
Rating:C Commentary: Not a superlative poster to go along with an interesting trailer. It’s fairly vanilla, but people interested in vampires may respond positively to it.
Plot Summary: After sending a message into deep space, earth is beset by an alien race bent on collecting them for their own nefarious purposes. Release Date:November 12, 2010
Rating:A- Commentary: A dazzling little poster, so much detail and beauty, yet the tagline’s a bit too cheesy. Still, if this doesn’t help sell the film, I don’t know what else will.

BURIED, poster #4
Plot Summary: Trapped six feet under in a coffin, a man desparately seeks answers and a way to escape. Release Date:September 24, 2010
Rating:B Commentary: A much more pleasurable view than the Vertigo style of the second poster. It’s significantly more creative while presenting the same sense of spiraling out of control.
