Bleecker Street has done quite well this year in terms of Oscar poking. Will it carry through to Oscar Morning? That’s a big question right now.
Trumbo
Stars: Bryan Cranston, Helen Mirren, Diane Lane, Elle Fanning, Louis C.K., John Goodman, Michael Stuhlbarg Director: Jay Roach Premise: From IMDb: “In 1947, Dalton Trumbo was Hollywood’s top screenwriter, until he and other artists were jailed and blacklisted for their political beliefs.” Oscar Chances: Questionable: Before the Screen Actors Guild, Helen Mirren was the only part of this film that had generated any level of buzz for a nomination. Now that both she and Bryan Cranston, as well as the ensemble, have figured into SAG nominations and have had a decent, though not spectacular day, at the Golden Globes, Mirren might have some company at the Oscars, though how much company remains to be seen.
