GHETTOPHYSICS

Rating:C+ Commentary: The low grade I’m giving is largely due to the terrible layout and format of the trailer including the poorly designed intertitles. As for the subject. I have to admit it sounds like an amusing documentary and it might have a few important things to say.
Rating:C Commentary: The fight the power motif fits to a small extent, but the execution leaves a lot to be desired. The backdrop is poorly chosen, the layout and positioning of text and images just aren’t that interesting.
Plot Summary: Desperate parents seek an illegal lung transplant in order to save their daughter’s life. Release Date:October 22, 2010

Rating:C+ Commentary: There are moments in the trailer where I want to be excited, but the surrounding moments make this look like a cliched drama.
Rating: None Commentary: I don’t review placeholders.

THE TEMPEST
Plot Summary: An adaptation of William Shakespeare’s The Tempest about a sorceress who seeks revenge on those who cast her out. Release Date:December 10, 2010

Rating:C- Commentary: The visuals look amazing, but a lot of the acting seems ill-fitting and the music entirely out of place. Still, with a cast like that it has to have some merits?
Rating:C Commentary: No inventive visuals, no exciting content, just a hamfisted attempt to exemplify the film without making it seem very interesting.
Trailer Link:Apple Trailers Oscar Chances:Art Direction, Costume Design, Makeup and Visual Effects all have to be considered, but little else. Even Helen Mirren doesn’t look award worthy.
SAW 3D, poster
Plot Summary: The seventh and purportedly final installment of the popular bloody horror franchise Saw featuring the righteous serial killer Jigsaw. Release Date:October 22, 2010
Rating:B+ Commentary: I like the “constructing Jigsaw” theme of the poster. In 3D (available at impawards.com), it looks pretty cool as well. Rating:D+ Commentary: Inventive is not the word to describe this poster. And considering the film series is predicated on originality of design and execution, this poster is even more disappointing.
