RARE EXPORTS: A CHRISTMAS TALE

	Plot Summary: A mining operation uncovers the secret lair of Santa Claus, only he’s not the benevolent grandfather figure everyone expects. Release Date: December 3, 2010

SANCTUM

	Plot Summary: A group of cave explorers find themselves trapped as a massive storm threatens to flood the cave. Release Date: February 4, 2011

	Rating: B- Commentary: Another film that looks interesting (I love caves and this looks to have some gorgeous cave photography…at least I hope it’s not all computer generated) but has so many cliched elements involved that you can’t help but expect the worst.	Rating: C Commentary: It isn’t nearly as detailed as it needs to be, which makes for a fairly bland poster that looks to be trying too hard.

I LOVE YOU PHILLIP MORRIS

	Plot Summary: A con man meets the man of his dreams in prison and will do just about anything for them to be together, including lie, cheat and steal…his favorite. Release Date: December 3, 2010

	Rating: C+ Commentary: When the concept was first announced, I didn’t know if it would be that interesting, but it seemed that way. This trailer, however, makes this look ridiculously trite and pretty standard Jim Carrey comedic fluff.	Rating: D+ Commentary: Not quite sure how this pertains to the film or in anyway represents it adequately. Just seeing this poster might make you wonder what Jim Carrey was doing, but not really grasping it. Rating: C+ Commentary: This is a much better poster at conveying the film’s tone and subject. It’s original, but isn’t the kind of poster you just hang on your wall.

ONG BAK 3

	Plot Summary: The third film in the Ong Bak trilogy finds Tony Jaa back in action battling the mysterious Demon Crow. Release Date: December 3, 2010

	Rating: C Commentary: If you like martial arts just for the sake of martial arts, this might be your film. There is no semblance of a plot on display in the trailer, so it doesn’t appear to be the kind of movie that has the chance to break out of the limitedly-watched sequel mold.	Rating: C- Commentary: The poster for the previous film was far more creative, so I don’t know if they are running out of ideas or just running out of juice.

	Plot Summary: 30 years after capturing and killing a Nazi war criminal, three Mossad agents must cope with the possibility that a new man claiming to be this Nazi has resurfaced. Release Date: December 29, 2010

	Previous Preview: The Debt	Rating: D+ Commentary: Conceptually, I like the map element; but in terms of execution, it’s rather bland and uneventful and not at all the kind of work that people A) hang on their walls or B) look at and say “I want to see that”.
