Review: (#1, C) The Scarlet Letter but quasifuturistic? This design, other than being overly bright and blaring, doesn’t compel thoughtful discussion or intrigue. (#2, C) A deviation on the prior but with a marble backdrop, it makes significantly less sense. (#3-#5, C) Dull character posters that lean into the monochromatic concept without need.

Trailer Rating: C / C+

Review: (#1, C) If you watch a trailer and your first impression of it is: what is this about, then the marketing team has done a poor job. There seems like there might be a compelling concept offered with the film but it’s confused and difficult to discern and that’s just not going to do much. (#2, C+) A slight improvement over the prior. It still doesn’t get the concept across very well but it has a much more stylish design aesthetic and that improves its approach to fans of Julia Ducournau, which isn’t a very broad fanbase.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
