Review: (#1, C+) Not leaning into the title might have been a mistake but this isn’t too outside the connection to the word. The colors are a bit overbearing but at least distinctive from most other designs in release, so it could benefit from that striking nature. It’s obvious it’s science fiction as well, which could bolster its numbers. It’s just an overall dull, surprisingly lifeless design.

(#2, C+) In the context of the film, it might make some sense but it doesn’t feel like the existing trailers establish enough information to allow this design to make sense.

Review: (#1, C+) Trying to sell a new science fiction film that looks like myriad other such films is a difficult task and nothing here speaks too effectively to the target audience. There are some interesting moments and it might have some merit to the viewer but the mediocre structure of the trailer inhibits much of that.

(#2, C+) There’s still a lot of confusion about what the point of this film. If it’s just cheap sci-fi horror, then it gets its message across. If not, then it doesn’t do much to bolster interest in the film. The premise is given little detail and the similarity to Alien is unfortunate.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
