Review: (#1, C+) A nice subdued color palette with background details to set time and place but without detracting from the squatting central figure. Thematically that positioning doesn’t carry much weight but it has an appealing balance of detail. (#2, C) This may do better at creating a sense of place but lacks the cumulative detail that made the prior design more successful.

Review: (#1, C) This short trailer fails at presenting a sufficient foundation for the narrative. The premise is lost in a sea of anime tropes that never feels like a film that exists for its own sake. Title alone will draw fans of its source but there’s no chance it will have broader appeal.
