Review: (#1, C) Although it’s meant to suggest a dead unicorn on an operating room table, the blank white background and lack of table depth don’t sell it well. (#2, C) Trying to keep the beast unidentifiable might play into the film’s air of mystery but it makes for an uninspired poster design that takes a familiar image from the trailer and promotional photos and merely tilts it to make it seem aggressive.

Trailer Rating: B- / C / C

SEE ALL TRAILERS BELOW
Review: (#1, B-) The dark comedic elements are somewhat well presented in this first trailer, a story that pulls some influence from Jurassic Park and isn’t afraid to show the viewer that there’s a certain tongue-in-cheek nature to the film. (#2, C) Then, the second trailer gives ground allowing its comedy to fall to the wayside while focusing on the horror elements of the film. It ends up giving the viewer the wrong impression of the movie that might have otherwise been interested in.

(#3, C) The purpose of putting out so many trailers that don’t expand on the narrative surrounding the film but rehash the same images and moments just in different orders does not make the film look more intriguing.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
