Review: (#1, C-) Other than highlighting the film’s nonagenarian star, there’s little that adequately ties the character to the narrative. This isn’t a design that will encourage viewership. We’ll speak little of the wasted space and grossly ill-fitting title color.

Trailer Rating: B+

Review: (#1, B+) It’s fairly straightforward in presenting the narrative and although there are familiar beats at play, a compelling central performance from June Squibb makes the film look more intriguing. There are plenty of moments that tap into the Holocaust-derived life of its main character and give the audience the impression that they are in for something that will bring more than a few tears.

Oscar Prospects:

It certainly looks like a film the Academy would love but early buzz has died off since its festival debut. Of course, June Squibb is still a contender even if the film is not.
